MECUM EXPANDS LINEUP
FOR 2010 MONTEREY AUCTION WITH THE DELORENZO L88 ROADSTER
MARENGO,
Ill. - Mecum continues to consign one-of-a-kind cars for its second
annual Mecum Monterey Auction with the addition of the rare ex-DeLorenzo
L88 Roadster.
This 1967 Corvette L88 Roadster - one of only 20 produced and the
earliest RPO-ordered L88 known to exist - was owned and raced by Tony
DeLorenzo Jr., son of General Motors VP of public relations Anthony G.
DeLorenzo. DeLorenzo drove the car to victory in its first race at
Wilmont Hills, Wisc., and went on to finish second in the 1967 Daytona
Beach SCCA runoffs. After a 1982 Canadian Road Race Championship,
the L88 was retired from racing, restored and awarded Bloomington Gold
and Top Flight NCRS honors. It will be sold at Mecum's Monterey
Auction with a copy of the original window sticker and a fully
documented owner history.
Mecum's Monterey Auction takes place at the luxurious Hyatt Regency
Monterey Resort & Spa on August 13-14, 2010. The auction has
been expanded to two days as more than 400 vehicles will cross the
block. Cars will be displayed on the beautiful Del Monte Golf
Course. The auction is open to the general public. For a
complete list of vehicles, visit www.Mecum.com.
The Mecum Auction Company has been specializing in the sale of collector
cars for 23 years, now offering more than 5,000 collector cars per year.
